The Nature Center not only contains interpretive exhibits that describe the park environment, history, and geology, but also live animal displays that houses fish, snakes, and turtles.
Visitors can take a hike on nature trails and boardwalks, go canoeing or kayaking in the creek and bay, and even enjoy a centrally located playground for children.
Visitors can see gopher tortoises, zebra swallowtail butterflies, bobcats, red shouldered hawks, bald eagles, roseate spoonbills, ospreys, otters, bottle nosed dolphins, and manatees.
Canoes and kayaks can be rented on site at the park's entry station.
Affiliated non-profit, 501(c) youth groups can camp at the park. The sites feature potable water, picnic tables, and fire pits, and can accommodate groups ranging from 12 to 50 people for only $2 per person, per night.
