We operate the largest hospital-based research program in the United States. We are proud to host the nation’s largest hospital-based neuroscience research program, made up of more than 100 researchers in 60 labs. Our mission is to rapidly discover treatments to reduce and eliminate the devastating impact of neurological disorders.

Our department has been involved in several groundbreaking initiatives. We have initiated the innovative new HEALEY ALS Platform Trial, which is accelerating efforts to bring new ALS treatments to patients. We have also identified a newly characterized form of tau that may be involved in initiating Alzheimer’s disease. Furthermore, we have identified a new small molecule inhibitor for use against Alzheimer’s Disease.
